Cloud computing is a hot topic that promises to transform the way businesses operate with a significant impact to business strategy and business outcomes. Many Cloud services vendors are positioning their offerings directly to business executives with the goal of convincing those executives that money can be saved and services delivered better than traditional IT methods. The allure of significant cost savings and increased responsiveness is very tempting to accept as fact without a complete understanding of how cloud services will truly impact the business. A major disconnect comes with the understanding of the involvement that IT must still have with cloud services. IT is not absolved from any responsibility just because the business decides to move to a cloud service strategy. The business and IT must work together diligently to ensure the success of the business strategy and cloud services. This session discusses the information that Service Managers must know prior to developing a cloud strategy to ensure that IT can support the business cloud strategy and be able to account for the impact cloud services have on IT services. Are you ready for the inevitable?
